Sorry for a beginner question but I would like to ask that I don't see the connection between the schema evolution (update schema) with Application Binding section.

I guest the flow when update schema is that first we update the schema, then Kafka maintain both version? On the application side, we need to update the proto to the newer version. Until then, the old version still run normally?
